ANNA ASHFORD - ARV PROGRAMME (PROJECT TRUST)
I always knew I wanted to take a gap year out before university and Project Trust seemed like a brilliant opportunity to make the most of the year. I grew up in Bristol before going to an international school for Sixth form on the South Coast of Wales, UWC Atlantic College. When I heard about the possibility of volunteering in a rural hospital on the ARV programme in rural Eastern Cape, South Africa I knew it was the place I wanted to go! Now I am here and loving it, enjoying the morning runs, frequent sea dips, relaxing reading time, frisbee and learning lots and lots about HIV!

DAISY MORGAN - ARV PROGRAMME (PROJECT TRUST)
I’m Daisy Morgan from Leeds, England and I am spending a year working for Jabulani Rural Health Foundation in Zithulele before I go to study medicine at Liverpool University in September. I work alongside Anna on the ARV programme at Zithulele Hospital in the ARV clinic. At home I play hockey for my local club in my free time but out here I really enjoy playing Frisbee, hiking and running in the beautiful surrounding areas.

JABULANI'S PARTNERSHIP WITH PROJECT TRUST
For 5 consecutive years now Jabulani has partnered with UK based charity Project Trust. Project Trust is a gap-year organization that (since the 1960s) has been sending British students abroad to volunteer projects worldwide. Since the collaboration began in 2010 between the Jabulani and Project Trust, two new volunteers have lived in Zithulele every year. They have worked to set up and help run the pre-packing component of the comprehensive ARV (antiretroviral) programme for HIV parients in the area. While in some places volunteers may find they are not given important tasks, the Project Trust volunteers with Jabulani play a truly life-saving role, and have to take on high levels of responsibility and workload.
Our exciting partnership with Project Trust should continue well into the future, especially as more Project Trust volunteers now work with neighbouring Zithulele NGO Axium Education.
