eco club
Is an environmental and adventure club for schools in the rural Eastern Cape.
Through fun and interactive education we want to inspire, excite and educate children about the environment, at the same time challenging mind-sets. Helping the children to learn to respect themselves, other people and the wilderness around them and providing them with opportunities they would never otherwise have. By combining adventure programs with environmental education the learners will be able to see physical benefits of taking care of their environment.
Environmental issues which will be addressed are: soil erosion, tourism, edible plants, marine life, litter, recycling, planting trees, clearing alien vegetation and alternative energy amongst others.
Adventure activities will include: hiking, climbing, abseiling, bouldering, swimming, surfing, tubing, raft building, camping, mountain biking, slackline, snorkeling to name a few.
We need resources and equipment to be able to run a effective program. Such as environmental magazines and DVDs and funding for weekends away, 1st Aid kits, t-shirts, sporting equipment and administrative costs.
