community survey
The University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) has granted the Foundation funding to gather information about our local Xhosa community – around 130,000 people. This will entail community consultations and surveys of households and nearby clinics. Our overall aim is to better inform ourselves of the community’s needs, ideas and resources.
To date, we have conducted geographical mapping of the area with statistics taken from our last census in 2001. With these figures now seven years out of date, we wish to create our own customised data about the local community, and are looking for someone to carry out this exciting research project. Interested people should get in contact with us to find out more.
